View Fall Colors in St. Helena
Now through the end of November, and perhaps into early December, there are wonderous Fall colors in St. Helena. I shot the photo above while taking a walk through vineyards near Deer Park Road at Highway 29 in St. Helena. I hike from there in and out of vineyards to York Lane, a small street that feeds into Highway 29. To be on the safe side, I ask at one of the tasting rooms if I can take a walk through the vineyards for photographing. If it is before the tasting room opens, I go at it with my camera in hand. If I encounter vineyard workers, I just point to my camera and I always get an approving nod.
The view of the St. Clement winery in the background shows off the Fall colors in St.Helena at its best. I love the colors of the tree against the old St. Clement Victorian; it is spectacular. If you visit the St. Clement tasting room, the view of the vineyards below are breathtaking. See previous article on St. Clement.
Another good spot to view Fall colors in St. Helena is on the terrace at the Wine Spectator Restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. We also like the view of vineyards surrounding the Charles Krug winery, just north of Deer Park Road.
