Mendocino wine country has two distinct wine areas. The first is the famed Anderson Valley on Highway 128 on the way to the town of Mendocino. The second Mendocino wine country region is area on Highway 101 between Hopland and Ukiah.  While the Anderson Valley is a cool climate growing area, the Hopland area is much more versatile and ideal for growing a variety of grapes.   Which wine trail will you explore?  Also see, Best Time to Visit the Wine Country.
