The Niner Estate in Paso Robles is one of the newer wineries in the Paso Robles wine country. It is high atop a hill overlooking Highway 46 West. The winery began operation in 2003, but it was not until 2009 that the tasting room and cellars were completed. The Niner Wine Estate tasting room and production cellar are LEED Certified. Two of the Niner Estate vineyards are SIP Certified. In addition to vineyards surrounding the winery, Niner has vineyards in the Edna Valley. The tasting room is gorgeous and a very popular destination for wine travelers to Paso. The tasting room is open daily from 10am to 5pm, and the tasting fee is $10 per person. There are also vineyard and winery tours, and food and wine tastings. Check the Niner Website for complete details on the tours and tastings.
On Wednesday, July 9, 50 wine bloggers assembled at the Niner Wine Estate in their hospitality center for a seminar on the history and terroir of Paso Robles. We tasted six wines from six producers each in a sub division of Paso Robles (more in a coming post about Paso Robles quest to certified 11 sub areas as official AVA’s).
