There are several ballooning companies that offer many different package deals. This particular hot air ballon company happens to launch their balloons by the entrance to Domaine Chandon in Yountville. The hot air balloon in the photo above is hovering over one of Yountville’s famous B & B’s. The balloon had just been launched and would soon afford its occupants a breathtaking look at the Napa Valley. Besides hot air ballooning, there are many other fun things to do on your wine country getaway to the Napa Valley. Try hiking one of the several trails in the Napa Valley. Take an early morning walk along Yount Mill road in Yountville. Play a round of golf. For kids, one of the most fun and educational activities is a trip to Calistoga to see the Old Faithful Geyser. We *LOVED* our balloon ride over the Sonoma wine region. It takes a lot to get us out of bed so early on a weekend, but we didn’t regret our decision a bit. Amazing views, fun people sharing the basket, even champagne afterwards. Definitely an experience not to miss. We are even considering another ride!
A tip: many times there are discount coupons available through LivingSocial or Groupon. We got a BOGO and discovered that pretty much everyone on our balloon did too! Our pictures are posted here.
