Valentine’s Day Activities
This is biggest event of the month. Wine Country is the perfect romantic spot for a getaway with your loved one. If you’re looking to stay in the Napa Valley, Sonoma or Healdsburg, you might be too late reserving that perfect B&B and that favorite intimate restaurant. You might find a few open spots this late in the Napa Valley in the towns of Calistoga, Sonoma or Geyserville. Calistoga is a more laid-back town with more casual restaurants and lodging establishments. Calistoga may not have the panache of the other Napa Valley towns but it does have something the other towns don’t have, mud baths and hot springs. Geyserville, five miles north of Healdsburg, is all of two blocks long but boasts several really great tasting rooms and one of the hottest restaurants in the area, Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria. Try the Geyserville Inn for accommodations.

Sutter Creek
An excellent alternative to these very popular wine regions is the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Two favorite towns of ours in this wine region are Sutter Creek and Murphy’s. There are plenty of wineries, nice restaurants, and a beautiful and scenic countryside to view. Check our Web pages to find complete information on where to stay, dine, and what wineries to visit.

Catch the wild mustard in full bloom
February is the best month to view the wild mustard plant especially in the Napa Valley, Carneros, Sonoma Valley and the Russian River wine region of Sonoma County. You are sure to catch some eye-popping vineyards engulfed in this plant’s amazing yellow color.

Pruning Time
February means work in the vineyards. You are likely to see men and women working in the vineyards cutting the vine shoots, turning the vineyards into a beautifully-manicured scene.

  1. Although this article is now a year or so old – have it saved as a favorite because its great to remember that every February, its time to head to the wine country to take part in the wine and chocolate weekend with the Lodi Winery. This year was no exception. A great annual event! Highly recommended if anyone like to experiment with their wine pairings.

Haven’t yet gone along to the Alsace Varietals Festival, but your article hasn’t steered me wrong yet so I’m sure its also well worth attending.

    Thanks again.
