Calistoga Inn is looking good

Calistoga Inn

The Calistoga Inn is looking good these days. It has been open about a year and half since a fire had forced it to close down. All is good these days and the Inn portion of the property and been re-done.  The restaurant still looks the same old quaint and cozy spot and the bar and brew pub is once again a happening spot. The restaurant has a huge outdoor seating area for lunch and dinner when the weather allows.  The Calistoga Inn has been a fixture in Calistoga for over 100 years. We have stayed at the Calistoga Inn a few times during the past 40 years and have enjoyed our stay. It is a bit funky and laid back compared to posh lodging found in most of the Napa Valley.  One of the traditions we like at the Calistoga Inn is the annual Pauper’s Feast held  mid-week in December. I popped into the brew pub this week and asked about the date for this years Pauper’s Night and the bartender told us it will be held on Thursday, December 18. This is mostly a locals’ event but if you happen to be in Calistoga at the time, it is a very fun event. It is a festive evening of joy with a local band playing and singing holiday songs. Be sure to call ahead and make your dinner reservation because this is a very popular event.
