In Cornerstone, the Meadowcroft Tasting room

These two great Sonoma County wineries are less than an hour away from San Francisco. Cline Cellars and Gloria Ferrer are located in the famous Los Carneros Region of Sonoma County.  Cline is an old family winery making traditional varieties of white, Rosé, and red wines. Gloria Ferrer is all about Sparkling wine. Bonus – Cornerstone and Sunset Market Place.

Visit these great wineries

• Cline Cellars – Zinfandels and Rhone Wines
Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves –  Sparkling wines and views
Cornerstone – Three tasting rooms in this complex

Directions from the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge

• Take 101 North and exit at Highway 37.
• Travel on Highway 37 for roughly 8 miles
• Turn left to Highway 121 and Sonoma.
• Take Highway 121 for about 4 miles.
• Watch for Cline Cellars on the left side of the highway.

Cline Cellars

Once you make the turn from Highway 37 on to Highway 121, you are in the Carneros wine country. Just pass the Sonoma Raceway, the scenery changes to beautiful rolling hills of vineyards. Keep driving until you see the entrance to Cline Cellars. We like this winery for its friendliness and down-to-earth atmosphere. The wines are good, and the wine prices excellent. The family has vineyards from other areas, so you will get a good selection of wines to try. Pack a lunch; Cline has a lovely picnic spot.

Tasting room open daily 10 am to 6

Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves

Leave Cline and turn left on Highway 121 for one mile. The Gloria Ferrer entrance is on the left, directly across from the Cornerstone entrance. Gloria Ferrer makes both still and sparkling wines, but it is the bubbly wines that you are after at Gloria Ferrer. Sit inside or on the Vista Terrace and enjoy a wide selection of tasting options. Tours are also available.

Tasting room open daily 10 am with last seating at 4:15

Cornerstone and Sunset Marketplace

If you have the time, Cornerstone is an exciting area of boutique garden shops, the Sunset Gardens, and three wine tasting rooms. Relax and enjoy the surroundings at each of the very cool tasting rooms. Cornerstone also has a fabulous Palooza beer garden and eatery. You can easily spend a couple of hours at Cornerstone.

Cornerstone is open 10 to 4 pm daily
