Best Places in Healdsburg

We have spent many occasions in Healdsburg and never tire of walking the streets around the Plaza and other nearby haunts. These are our favorite places in the town of Healdsburg.

For a morning cup of really good coffee, the Flying Goat on Center Street is the place. If we want a full breakfast or deliciously baked bread,we always choose the Costeaux French Bakery. This bakery has been in Healdsburg since 1923.

It might be unusual to find a big upscale market in a small town, but Big John’s Market is just that. If you like Whole Foods Market you will like Big John’s even more. The deli department is the best. While the tourists may flock to the Oakville Grocery near the Plaza, the locals go to Big John’s for their deli supplies.

On the Plaza, Copperfield’s Books recently expanded into the adjacent storefront. Inside Copperfield’s is the Bovolo Restaurant. Bovolo is small gourmet café with unusual dishes of amazing quality for lunch or dinner. The combination makes for a one-of-kind bookstore.

As far as restaurants, our favorites are Zin Restaurant, Ravenous Café, and Willie’s Seafood. Best bar is at the Barndiva Restaurant. For a good and inexpensive lunch try the Healdsburg Bar and Grill or the Bear Republic Brew Pub. El Farolito has the best authentic Mexican fare.

For shoppers, there are so many stores but don’t miss these: The Plaza Gourmet (kitchen shop), Noble Design (custom jewelry), and Papitre (cards, paper products, notepads).

Explore Healdsburg and discover your own favorites; you will have many.
