Vineyards in the Alexander Valley

Alexander Valley Road

Alexander Valley Road is one of the most beautiful wine roads in the county of Sonoma. In our “Wine Country Photo of the Day,” we see vineyards that belong to the Silver Oak Winery. We are looking to the east as the morning fog begins to clear. On May 15th to 17th, the Alexander Valley Wine Growers are showcasing the wineries located in the Alexander Valley designated AVA, or wine appellation. This is the 18th annual “Taste Alexander Valley.” This event affords the wine country traveler the perfect opportunity to explore the many Alexander Valley wineries and the beauty of this area. Visit the Alexander Valley Growers Website for event details. See the list of wineries that will host food and wine tasting events and wineries with open-house wine tastings. If you don’t like the crowds at these wine events, one can easily travel the Alexander Valley Road and visit many wonderful wineries any day of the week. We list our favorite wineries on our Alexander Valley Wine Route.  For lodging and dining in the Alexander Valley, the town of Healdsburg offers the best choices. Geyserville, a small town just north of Healdsburg, has a much smaller number of lodging and restaurant choices, but in a more quiet setting.
