The Wine Aroma Station

For our “Wine Country Photo of the Day,” we have chosen a photograph from our recent visit to Bordeaux’s La Cité du Vin. This is the new wine museum that opened in July of this year. It is all about educating visitors about wines from all over the world. It includes several educational stations to help people learn about the nuances of wine. One is the Wine Aroma Station. As you can see in the photo above, a squeeze of the rubber bulb will send out the aroma of raspberries. There were several stations like this and it is an excellent way to improve your sensory wine skills. I would love to see more activities like this in all wine countries. Do we have anything like this in California? Please tell us where they are.

  1. Hi! This is Kelly of Kelly + Jones Notes of Wine. I’m passionate about this topic – our fragrances are inspired by the notes of wine and are a great educational tool for “training” the nose. The collections are available at Riverbench and at Nagy Wines in Santa Maria. Cheers and thank you for the chance to comment!
